Premiere of the "Genshin Impact - Liyue Jazz Collection" with The Melodic Odyssey of Oceanids (ft. Mr Jiajun Ma)
Thanks to the Melodic Odyssey of Oceanids for bringing this “abandoned” project to life! I have always wanted to experiment with a fusion of jazz and Chinese instruments. This musical style was once part of the vibrant cultural scene of Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s. While the art form faded after the late 1940s, it has experienced a revival since the 1980s. Collaboration with The Melodic Odyssey of Oceanids performing "The Bygone Days"
For the Christmas of 2025, I had the chance to again work with "The Melodic Odyssess of Oceanids", an online music ensemble based in Guangzhou, China, for this jazz performance of "The Bygone Days" by Mr Joe Hisaishi. The soprano saxophone player definitely killed the solo! Premiere of "Three Trails of the Chinese Countryside" by John Mallinson Youth Band
On 4th of October 2025, I had the privilege of working with the John Mallinson Youth Band in its Rhapsody in Blue concert. I was involved in conducting Jean-Baptiste Arban’s Variations on “The Carnival of Venice” , featuring a euphonium solo by Mr Joseph Yu, as well as my own composition Three Trails of the Chinese Countryside , featuring a hulusi solo by Ms Anna Li.
